Teaching and training
A good deal of my work has revolved around teaching people to
be at ease and efficient with computers, and to fit them
appropriately into office procedures. This has included
-
introducing people to computers from scratch
-
teaching on-site IT staff how to do routine maintenance
e.g. backups, Office installations, making and saving Word and
Excel templates and Access reports, and introducing and teaching
new software packages.
-
Also teaching people to use remote and mobile email,
Terminal Server and other remote access connections including
RWW,
-
and the setting up of home offices for Corporate Staff who
are working from home, and training them to do this
Research and Development
Both my parish and computing work has involved extensive
research of new methodologies and technologies, becoming rapidly
proficient in them, and then adapting them to the expressed needs of
clients or parishes. I am very good at summarising needs which have
been expressed, finding and developing workable, and affordable
solutions, and communicating them to a client. I pay close attention
to client feedback, and work to leave future options for development
open. I am a project oriented person, excellent at setting up
systems for others to use.
